Position Overview

Red Door Learning Company is urgently seeking a certified Special Education Teacher to serve as the Teacher of Record for an 8:1:2 , 12:1:2 and Intergraded preschool classroom within our NYSED‑approved 4410 program.

This is a critical role responsible for instructional leadership, compliance, and continuity of services for students with IEPs during the summer session. The ideal candidate is confident stepping into an established classroom, demonstrates strong classroom management, and has experience supporting students with higher levels of need.

In addition to this immediate opening, Red Door Learning Company is actively building a candidate pipeline for 12:1:2 and Integrated classroom settings for both the summer and the 2025–2026 school year.


Program Details

  • Preschool Special Education (Ages 3–5)
  • NYSED 4410 Program
  • 8:1:2 , 12:1:2 and Intergraded Classroom Setting
  • Teaching Assistant support provided
  • Collaborative team environment with OT, PT, Speech, and SEIT providers
  • On‑site leadership and administrative support

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Teacher of Record for an 8:1:2 , 12:1:2 or Intergraded classroom
  • Implement and manage student IEPs, including goals, accommodations, and progress monitoring
  • Deliver developmentally appropriate, differentiated instruction
  • Establish and maintain a structured, well‑managed classroom environment
  • Ensure compliance with all NYSED 4410 regulations
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and compliance reporting
  • Participate in progress reporting, team meetings, and required reviews
  • Communicate effectively with families, staff, and service providers

Qualifications

  • NYS Certification in Special Education (Birth–Grade 2 or Students with Disabilities)
  • Experience in a 4410 preschool setting preferred
  • Experience in an 8:1:2, 12:1:2 or Intergraded classroom strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and compliance requirements
  • Ability to provide immediate leadership, stability, and instructional continuity

Compensation

  • Up to $10,000 for the full summer program
  • Compensation contingent upon successful completion of the summer assignment and responsibilities
