Position Overview
Red Door Learning Company is seeking a motivated and compassionate After-School Tutor to support students in our after-school enrichment program. This role is ideal for college students, education majors, graduate students, and professionals who enjoy working with children and helping them succeed academically.
The After-School Tutor will provide homework assistance, reinforce academic skills, and help maintain a structured and encouraging after-school learning environment. Tutors will support students in reading, writing, mathematics, and general study habits while fostering confidence and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide homework help and academic support across subject areas
- Reinforce reading, writing, and math skills through practice and guided instruction
- Work with small groups or individual students
- Support positive behavior, routines, and classroom expectations
- Communicate with program staff about student progress and needs
- Assist with enrichment activities and educational exercises
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
Qualifications
- College student or graduate preferred
- Majors in Education, Psychology, or related fields are a plus
- Prior experience working with children preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Patient, reliable, and supportive demeanor
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students
- Must pass a background check
Schedule
After-School Program Hours:
Monday-Friday, approximately 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Part-time position.
Compensation
$18 – $23 per hour
Based on experience and qualifications.
